About CK School

We are Ready:
·       Christ the King has been educating children in Northwest Detroit and the surrounding community since 1938.
·      Our student-teacher ratio is 14:1.
·      Students are taught by dedicated, highly qualified professional educators.
·      We are accredited through the Michigan Non-Public Schools Accreditation Association and are actively involved in the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools.
·      We offer numerous opportunities for parent involvement through our Christ the King Parent-Teacher Guild.

We are Responsible:
·      Licensed before and after-school care are provided through Little Scholars of Detroit on our campus.
·      Students have access to technology and use technology throughout their activities.
·      Students demonstrate their public speaking ability through participation in the annual Declamation Contest.
·      We provide additional support for our students through Title I services and our partnership with the St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center.
·      We make summer school available for students who are interested in attending.
·      We offer free and reduced lunch for students who qualify.

We are Reflective:
·      Students engage in the core academic subjects as well as art, music, computers, library, physical education, Spanish, and Italian.
·      Christ the King Student Ministry Council engages in various outreach programs in our community.
·      We celebrate our faith through our annual Christmas concert and various retreats for students of all ages.
·      We study the world around us and participate in various Black History Month activities, including the Black History Wax Museum.
·      We promote the shared Gospel message that all of our faiths share on a regular basis.
·      We provide field trips for students across various aspects of the curriculum.
·      We are supported by a loving parish community.

We are Respectful
·      Students and teachers are trained in Restorative Practices and Peer Mediation to solve conflicts and restore relationships.
·      Students participate in the Mass and other prayer services on a regular basis.
·      We teach respect for ourselves and others through participating in Red Ribbon Week to educate students about the importance of being drug free and bully free.
·      Our middle school students partner with other Catholic school middle school students in the City of Detroit for Leadership Camp, retreats, and other activities.  
·      We encourage students to be involved in scouting, soccer, and other sports activities while maintaining a strong academic foundation.–
