CK students from Preschool through 8th grade participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
Library Programs
Parent-Child Storytime
Parent-Child Storytime is a monthly program for students in preschool and kindergarten. Parents come with their children to the library for a storytime program including stories, songs, crafts, and book check-out.
Library After-School Program
Library Program is a monthly program for students in 1st – 5th grade. Students listen to a story and make a related snack and craft.
Sports
Basketball
Christ the King participates in CYO basketball. Boys and Girls in grades 4-8 can participate in the basketball program.
Football
Students attending Christ the King School may participate in the Redford Catholic football program. This program is open to boys in 2nd-8th grade. For more information visit the Redford Catholic Lancers website.
Leadership Programs
Student Council
Student Council is open to students in 5th-8th grade. Members help plan and facilitate school activities including: Halloween, Earth Day, Pet Day, Teacher Appreciation Day, Jr. High Lock-In, and Ice Cream Socials.
Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry is also open to students in 5th-8th grade. Members participate in several service projects throughout the school year. The students helped serve at St. Christine’s Soup Kitchen, visited Redford Geriatric as part of the MLK service day, and sponsored fundraising events.
Clubs
Spanish Club
Students learn about the Spanish language and Latin American culture.
Culinary Arts
This club is for future chefs and all those who enjoy cooking.
Quilting
Students with an interest in sewing can work to make their own lap quilt.
Girl Scouts
Christ the King School has girl scout troops from Daisies to Cadettes. Girl Scouts complete craft projects, go on weekend camping trips, sell girl scout cookies, and participate in events such as “mall mania.”
